Before your visit – important information
To ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers and clients, we respectfully request that you adhere to the following rules at all times whilst on our premises: • Face coverings must be worn at all times. • You must consent to using the NHS Covid -19 contact tracing app or completing our Track and Trace log book. • You must not attend our premises if you have any symptoms of Covid –19 e.g. a high temperature, a cough, a loss or change to your sense of smell and/or taste. • You must use the hand sanitizer on entry to the premises. • You must attend alone; partners and children will not be permitted. You will have a maximum of 45 minutes with one of our advisers. If we are not able to complete your enquiry in that time you will be referred for an appointment. Coronavirus: Test and Trace if you get advice in person If you get advice in person we'll ask for your:
We might be asked to share your name, contact details and the date of your visit with Test and Trace or local public health organisations. This is to help track cases of coronavirus. They might contact you if they think you're at risk after your visit. For example, because someone getting advice at the same time has tested positive for coronavirus. You can find out more about Test and Trace in England on GOV.UK. We'll never share information about the reason for your visit. If you can't give contact details, for example if it's not safe for you to do so, we'll still be able to give you advice in person. Unlike most situations, we won't ask for your consent before we share your contact details. If you don't want us to share this information you can tell your local office you want to opt out. We’re doing this to help keep you and the public safe, This is a ‘legitimate interest’ of Citizens Advice. We won't share your contact details with anyone other than Test and Trace or a local public health organisation. If we share your information we'll let you know, and offer further support. All of the services you will be offered by the Citizens Advice service will be: Independent We will always act in the interests of our clients, without influence from any outside bodies. Impartial We don't judge our clients or make assumptions about them. Our service is open to everyone, and we treat everyone equally. Confidential We won't pass on anything a client tells us, or even the fact that they've visited us without their permission. Free No-one has to pay for any part of the service we provide. What to bring with you As you will have a maximum of 45 minutes with one of our advisers, it is helpful if you can bring as much relevant documentation with you as possible. We will not tell anyone about your case and will not pass on anything from our records to anyone outside the Citizens Advice service without your permission, unless we are required to do so by law or it is the right and necessary thing to do. Our records are subject to quality checks. We will respect your data protection rights for any information you provide to us. Please ask to see our Privacy Policy if you would like to know more.
